Edith's Story

I left Beaumont High School in February of 1968 and went to Wheat Ridge High in Colorado. I still think of myself as a Royal Purple, and am sad that I wasn't in the graduating class in 1970 as I should have been. I was married for 23 years and lived in Broomfield, CO most of those years. We had three children, who are now amazing adults. My son Rick is 37 and in Billings Montana. He is dad to Bailey Rae (an adorable one year old!) Shauna is now 33 and lives in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. She is mommy to Lilliana Mae who is just 6 months old. Elinore, my baby, is 27 ...Expand for more
now. Her son Ethan is 4 years old. Since he lives here in Lafayette and can actually say the words, "I love you, Grandma" he is my favorite grandson. I was a police communications specialist in Colorado...answering 9 1 1 and telling the officers where to go... but decided I needed to go to school to become a counselor. I moved to Louisiana to pursue that end. In December 2007 I graduated with a Master's in Community Counseling. I currently work with adolescents who have substance abuse problems. Life is a grand adventure, and I am looking forward to new challenges!
